Imageswap mods are as the name describes - they tell the game to swap its images for a different set. In this way anyone so inclined can create a mod with alternate images.
All the mods listed in the game are functional but first require an image pack to be downloaded and installed.
Once downloaded (see mod descriptions for url) the mod must be unzipped to a corresponding folder:
[Incubus City folder]\mods\[mod foldername]\
The hentai mod should be in the folder Incubus City\mods\hentai\
The Sp1ke mod should be in the folder Incubus City\mods\Sp1ke\
The chocolate mod should be in the folder Incubus City\mods\chocolate\

Bigtex Mod by bigtex*
This mod takes favorite swap pics from other mods, Incubus Island
(v0.0.4) and custom ones I made featuring pornstars Lisa Ann, Lauren
Philips, Nia Nacci, Alice March, Adriana Chechik, Gia Milana, Romi Rain,
Kendall Kross and Lola Fae. (*some content sourced from earlier mods)
Hentai Mod V1 / V2 / Version 3 by Wape, J.Err, Queen Pauline
Hentai mod made to test background replacements. Affects alley, babysitter, fence, mailorder bride, motel girl, mother and girl in love, chairman's wife, as well as all the backgrounds. This mod changes 138 images, the background and some in-game text.
Replaces gifs with HD WEBM video files, and adds even more. Currently modifies babysitter, brothel, family and frat scenarios. Replaces 139 images.
Expansion of the Zotscheetter mod. Modifies famly, brothel, frat, babysitter, alley, mailorder scenarios. This mod changes 420 images.
Mercury's Faces Mod
Replaces the rape gifs with more violent and agressive ones and more sleeping gifs and squirt/pee. This mod changes 59 images.

The mod will then need to be chosen via the in-game MODS button on the lefthand side.
The Selected mod will activate upon pagechange.
Accessing About page or Black Book immediately after choosing mod will revert to the previous mod. (This is a bug.)

Creating Imageswap Mods

Modding Tools
Twine - Though it's not required, I recommend installing and using Twine to edit the game's story html file. It's much easier to test this way, in my opinion.
Mod Tester - If in the game you go to About > Modding Page > Modding Tools, you will find a link to the Mod Tester.
Sample Mod File - In most versions of the game there is a samplemod.txt file you can use as a starting point. I am currently working on a more comprehensive version of this file, as many images have been added and others have been renamed or removed since the last version of samplemod.txt.
Sample Mod Spreadsheet - You might find it easier to work in a spreadsheet file. If you give me a completed spreadsheet I can easily convert this to a functioning mod.

ReplyDeleteThe mods need to be activated in the mod menu, and they only change a certain amount of images as they are incomplete.

DeleteThe short of it is: use Twine (twinery.org) to build a basic scenario (It's easy, just encase links in double square brackets eg: [[Go to the store.|storePassage]]), find images for it, then send me what u got. (Though I prefer working backwards from images sometimes, like find a set of gifs that inspire an idea and create a scenario based on it.)
how do i get the Zotscheetter Mod to show up in the mods list?

ReplyDeleteLooking at the code I see a provision for a JAV mod. Where is the image pack?
ReplyDeleteIt's not available yet. The mod author is half finished it, but he's a busy guy and doesn't want to release it before he's replaced EVERY image. Even now its the most complete mod so far.

ReplyDeleteI added the description from the game to the above, is that what you wanted? They all change a certain number of images except for the Hentai one which also adds/alters a small amount of content including backgrounds.
DeleteNone of these mods work. I've tried for several hours to get them to work, trying multiple different installations but nothing. No big deal the game is still great without them but you might want to get that looked at.
